Our Story

A School Built on Experience

We are both educators, parents, and people who care deeply about what school feels like for students and families. Teaching has been our life’s work, and for years we talked about what we would do differently if we ever had the chance to build a school of our own.

Like many families, the years during and after COVID forced us to look more closely at education. We both began asking hard questions about what schools do well—and what they often struggle to do responsibly. Tressa chose to pursue an MBA to better understand the business and organizational side of education, gaining insight into areas she felt schools too often overlook. I pursued a master’s degree in education to deepen my understanding of teaching, learning, and school leadership. Together, those paths helped shape a clearer picture of what a well-run, academically strong school could look like.

At our core, we are classroom teachers. We both studied elementary education early in our careers, and those early experiences continue to shape how we think about students, teachers, and learning. We believe schools should be academically serious, financially responsible, and built around thoughtful decisions rather than trends.

This school grew out of those beliefs.

Our goal was never to create something flashy. We wanted to build a school grounded in experience—one that values strong academics, careful stewardship, and a learning environment that feels calm, focused, and human. In short, a school we would want for our own children.
